Log Settings

In this page, you can make related settings of log files. Log function helps you to create or read log records. CAYIN provides two methods for you to send remote log:

  • Send remote log by SYSLOG: Syslog is a standard for computer data logging. It allows log software in your PC to retrieve log records and further analyze them.
  • Send remote log by TCP: You have to purchase CAYIN’s log management tool, SuperReporter, to collect and manage all log records of players and servers via TCP protocol.

Here, we will introduce the following functions:

Enable Remote Log

  1. Go to LOG > Log Settings.
  2. Enable remote log function. You can choose to send remote log by Syslog or TCP. If you choose to send remote log by Syslog, you can simply enter the IP address of your designated server to enable remote log function. If you choose to send remote log by TCP, please enter both the IP address and port number.
    Note

    The default port number is 35000. If you want to change the port number, please refer to the instructions of Use log_rcv to change port number.

  3. Then you can select items from log categories to define those log records you would like to keep in the player or server.
    System system status change or system error
    Network network status or configuration change
    Miscellaneous other log files

Export Log

You can export the log records; then edit or analyze with your favorite text editor software, such as Notepad, Excel, etc.

  1. Go to LOG > Log Settings.
  2. Click the button, Export log; then you can export and save the log files. The export procedures will vary from browser to browser. Please follow the instructions of your browser.
    Note

    If you configure the Pop-up Blocker in your browser, the Export function will not be able to function properly. Please turn off your Pop- up Block or add SMP web manager in the Allow Web sites list.

Clear All Logs

You can clear all log files in SMP players.

  1. Go to LOG > Log Settings.
  2. Click the button, Clear all logs; then you will see all log files are removed from the SMP player on LOG > View Logs page.
