File
CAYIN provides two methods for you to manage files in Media folder:
- Manage via Web Manager: You can upload and delete multimedia files directly on CMS’s management user interface.
- Manage without Web Manager: You can use CAYIN Seeker to open the Media folder. Please refer to Content Update for more detailed information.
In this section, we will introduce how you can manage files via Web Manager in LIBRARY > File page.
View Files & Folders
You can view all files stored in the Media folder of this CMS server. Select a group first and you can manage the folder that is assigned to this group.
In the upper right corner of the window, you will see more functions for you to change view modes or filter file types.

Click the button and you can see all files and subfolders in the table. You can sort files alphabetically by the file name or by last modified date and size. Just click File name, Time, or Size to do it. Move your mouse over the row you want to configure, and you will see a tool icon in the right end of the row. Click it to access more functions. |

You can use the filter to show a specific type of file. Click the drop-down list and select a file type, such as videos, images, text, HTML, Flash, or others. If you want to see all files, just select All. |
Each image or video file has a small icon representing its activation status.

Manage Files & Folders
You can create folders and upload and delete files here.
Create Folders
- Go to the root directory or subfolder which you want this folder belongs to.
- Click the Add folder button and you will see a pop-up window.
- Enter the folder name and click
Upload Files
- Configure file upload limits. Click on the toolbar and you can set the maximum file upload size for image and video files. Files which exceed the limit cannot be uploaded into the server.
- Image: you can enable the upper limit of the image file, i.e., max. resolution 4096x2160 (8.8 million pixels).
- Video: you can set the upper limits of the resolution and bitrate. The supported video resolution and bitrate may vary depending on the media player you are using. Please refer to the following table for detailed specifications:

- Click the Upload button and you will see a pop-up window.
- Click Choose Files to select files; then click Upload. You can select multiple files and upload them at a time. You can also upload files and folders in one compressed file (ZIP format). CMS will unzip files and folders automatically after you upload the zip file, which will be removed right after the system unzip it successfully.
- You can click the File activation button to put a time limit on each file individually. Click Save to enable the setting.
- If you don’t set file activation, just click to close the window after you upload all files.
Instead of using the Upload button, you can also choose to upload files by dragging multiple files directly from Window’s Explore to CMS’s Web Manager. You can even drag the whole folder if you use Google Chrome, Firefox or Edge.

Activate Files
Activate Multiple Files
- Click the File Activation button and you will see the activation status of all files on a new page.
- Select a group. Then all image and video files belong to this group will display in the table below.
- You can use the filter button on the upper right corner to view video or image files respectively.
- You can view files based on their activation status on the corresponding tabs.
All files You can see all image and video files and their active time limit. Unactivated This file is unactivated at this moment. The activated time is prior to the start time. Activated This file is activated at this moment. Deactivated This file is deactivated at this moment. The activated time is past the end time. Unset This file hasn’t been set file activation, but the file is still active and ready for use. - Set the start and end time to put the time limit on the file and enable the period.
- You can click Remove all settings button on the upper right corner if you want to clear all time settings at once.
- Click Save to apply settings.
Activate a File
- Move your mouse over the file you want to configure.
- You will see a tool icon . Click the icon.
- You will see the Activate function and click it.
- Set the start and end time to put the time limit on the file and enable the period.
- Click Save to apply settings.
Delete Files and Folders
You can delete both files and folders on this page. Move your mouse over the folder or file you want to delete. Then you will see a tool icon . Click the icon and you will see the Delete function.
Rename Files/Folders
- Move your mouse over the folder or file you want to rename. Then you will see a tool icon . Click the icon and you will see the Rename function.
- Click Rename and you will see a pop up window.
- Enter a new folder name and click.

Move Files/Folders
You can move files or folders between different folders or subfolders. There are two ways:
Command:
- Move your mouse over the folder or file you want to move. Then you will see a tool icon . Click the icon and you will see the Move function.
- Locate and select the new folder; then click .
Drag & Drop:
Just locate the file or folder, keep pressing the left mouse-button, and drag and drop it to change path.
Edit Files
You can modify the content of a text file or the source code of an HTML file directly on the management user interface. Just double click the file to edit it.
